A girl with stories

We arrived in New York this afternoon and are spending the next few days here for training. Meeting the team members and the staff here at AIM has been such a great experience already!

It is such a comfort knowing that brothers and sisters in Christ are interceding for me! Things to be praying for specifically are…

–Safety and strength in travel. Rachel and I are both prone to motion sickness. The next few days will include 3 separate flights and we want to be as focused and physically able as possible.

–Focus and discipline in spending time with the Lord each day.

–The Rineer family. Mick and Suzanne Rineer and their children are the missionary family that we’ll be serving with. Pray that we will find specific ways to serve and be an encouragement to them.

–Emotional strength and renewal. Traveling and jet lag always take a toll on my emotions. I know that after a few days in Namibia Rachel and I will be on track again. Loving the children at Sanctuary will be such a blessing but will also be emotionally taxing. Pray for renewal and that I continually come to the Lord who is the source of strength and unconditional love.

–Spiritual warfare. The Word tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Rachel and I both experienced some of this before we even left home. I don’t want to give Satan too much thought, but I do want to be alert and prayed up against anything that he attempts.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
-Romans 8:26

The moment i wake up, before i put on my makeup i say a little prayer for you. While combing my hair now and wondering what dress to wear now, i say a little prayer for you…know that each day i am praying for you. I’m praying for safety and strength as your traveling and when you reach Namibia. The Lord has held your hand thus far and i know He will continue to guard and protect you. love you so much!
